announcements are not being seen by the student's. This is going on in 2 classes any work around

I have a instructor send me a ticket with this.

I emailed the class, and also myself through announcements, and it did not go to my junk email or out to any of the student's. We were going to be working via Blackboard from home this evening, but we were unable to do this since Blackboard for this course seems to not be working properly at the current time. The biggest issue is that announcements are not being seen by the student's they state, and they do not receive announcements to their email from the Blackboard site.

This is going on in a few classes any suggestions would be great

Hi Deno,

I am assuming the instructor clicked the Email Announcement "Send a copy of this announcement immediately". Even if the students did not received the email, the announcement should still be posted under the Announcements section. Are students not able to see the Announcements area?

In the past I encountered that the actual Blackboard email was not whitelisted on our network and that caused it to be moved into the Clutter folder for Outlook. Have you checked the course notifications settings as well?

Mary Jane Blystone makes great points on the back-end email options and verifying the Announcement options.

Here are details for the Blackboard Administrator to adjust settings on your end in conjunction with your email administrator.

Additionally, you may need to check the email logs to see if it send if you have the day or time which can vary. It has changed on SaaS and thanks for the reminder on that by Casey Eubank. https://help.blackboard.com/Learn/Administrator/SaaS/System_Management/Logs#format-logs-to-be-more-readable_OTP-3

We were seeing issues yesterday with announcement emails taking an hour or more to be received. That seems to be resolved.
