When you start an EC2 using an AMI and first load the site, thereby accessing the login screen, the screen explicitly provides the expiration date of the license, with comments that you should save this date for future reference.
Licenses are not extendible. Your options are to subscribe to a fresh AMI.
So in this case your AMI license has expired - there is no remedy.
For reference should others stumble across this comment...
Should you not have saved and switched to Ultra (the login page for Ultra does not display the expiration notice) you may open the exp_date file that is in the Ubuntu home directory for the expiry date. Note that you should not change or remove this date as it will not have the result for which you may have hoped.
